"Black Hole"

This was a modified work to home ride.
Instead of 5 miles, I took an extra 3 miles detour.
The best picture I got is the "Black Hole"!
bridge across Tramway

So from Wyoming and Constitution, I took the bike path just north of the intersection.

From there, I headed east. I passed Eubank, Morris, Menaul, Juan Tabo and finally got to Tramway.

Along the way, I came acroos Lynnewood Park.

Tramway has a nice overpass. That's where I took "Black Hole". I also had the following:

From the east side of Tramway, I headed north and made a right turn on Candelaria. After an uphill climb, I got to Camino de la Sierra. The original plan was to make a left on Camino de la Sierra and take it all the way to Manitoba before I go west. But the hill and the heat got me! I decided to take the downhill chill on Montgomery.

So when I got back to Tramway, I headed north along the bike path and made a left on Manitoba.

Manitoba is all downhill with many humps and stop signs. Good and bad!

I was very glad to made it home in one piece.

total distance: 8 miles

Sunday Special

I planned this route in the last few weeks but did not get the chance to ride until today, Sunday!

From Spain and Juan Tabo, I went west till Moon.
I turned north on Moon, crossed the bridge and got to Academy.
The city recently added a bike lane on Academy. I took it down to Wyoming.
I went up the bike path and took the following picture

Thanks to the city again, the new bike and running path was great! It was smooth riding!
I stopped by the new bridge.

After the bridge, I headed west on the bike path south of San Antonio.
Thanks to the many arroyos in town, along with it, the city added the bike path.

I took the path till San Pedro and headed north.
Right before Paseo del Norte, there is another bike path.
The sun was just peeking out, so I got a nice shot of my shadow.

This bike path goes all the way till Barstow.
From there, I headed south till Cherry Hill library.
I headed east on the bike path.
It was all uphill!
To stop or not to stop?
I kept asking myself.
I gave in when I saw the overhanging cables against the bright morning sun.

When I reached Eubank, I made a slight left turn and then rode into El Rey.
This part of town is really new to me. Although I passed by Eubank many times, this is my second time on that road.

I gave myself a good reason to stop when I saw some picture perfect spots along El Rey.

When I got to Tennyson, I turned north, then east on San Rafael.
Finally, I got to Tramway and it was all the way downhill to Spain and back to Juan Tabo!!!!

Total trip is about 13.5 miles.
Just like running, I thought after the triathlon, anything less than 15 miles will be a piece of cake.
Nope, not necessarily.
All in all, a great ride.
Looking forward to the next weekend ride.

So why name it "Tiger"? It reminds me of my golf idol who wears red and black on Sundays!

Introduction

I am blessed to live in a city with perfect outdoor weather and miles of bike trail. Lately, I felt the urge to combine my camera and my bike to capture the beauty of this magnificent city, Albuquerque, New Mexico!
